How to Play

W A S D move, Space jump (swim up in water), Shift sprint, mouse to look.
Hold the left button to break a block or hit a creature. Right-click places the block in your hand, uses a tool (hoe, bucket), eats food, opens chests and talks to islanders.
1-9 or the wheel pick a hotbar slot. E inventory and crafting, I islands, J quests, Esc menu.
Start: break the tree, craft planks, sticks and a workbench, then a wooden pickaxe. Your chest holds a hoe, a shovel, seeds, buckets and food.
Stone: the trench at the edge of your island makes cobblestone where water meets lava. Mine it and it comes back. You can build more of them with buckets.
Grow: place blocks to make the island bigger. With nothing in reach, right-click builds straight out from the block you stand on. Till soil near water, plant seeds, and plant saplings for more wood.
Tools: stone needs a wooden pickaxe, iron a stone one, diamonds an iron one, obsidian a diamond one. Tools wear out.
Islands: each new island needs a level and some resources, and has things the last one did not. Travel between them from the Islands screen, or build a bridge.
Creatures live on the far islands. Torches and lanterns keep the unfriendly ones from appearing nearby. Falling into the sky only sends you home.
Coins: sell what you gather to islanders, finish quests, and spend Coins in their shops. The game saves by itself.
Friends: open your island as a room from Play with Friends and give your friends the room code (up to six players). Everyone builds in the same world and shares its level, Coins and quests; each player has their own bag and health, and a friend's bag is kept for their next visit.
